About the Organiser
AFIC is the brain child of Carlina Ericson, a freelance marketing, content and event management consultant that specialises in festivals, major events as well as the tourism and hospitality industries.
Carlina has over 10 years’ experience in the private and public sectors, having worked for high profile organisations such as Destination NSW, TAFE NSW, Sydney Royal Easter Show and The Intermedia Group – one of Australia’s largest B2B media and event management companies. Whilst at Intermedia, she successfully implemented digital marketing strategies for 20+ B2B magazine titles, as well as delivered the Hotel Management Awards and the Australian Liquor Industry Awards for two years running, resulting in record profit and attendance.
She also brings a wealth of festival experience, including have worked on Australia’s first sustainability festival, Greenfest, attracting 30,000 attendees; writing Curryfest’s very first event plan in 2010, as the assistant festival director; and, more recently, executing visitor marketing strategies for Screenwave International Film Festival.
She holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing & Advertising) (Distinction) from Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Business (International Event Management) (Distinction) from The University of Queensland.
Carlina is also a Coffs Harbour local and has a passion for regional economic development, particularly through the advancement of the festival and tourism industries.
