The Australian Festival Industry Conference (AFIC) is the brain child of Carlina Ericson – owner/director of Australian Festival Consulting Pty Ltd.

Carlina has over 10 years’ experience in the private and public sectors, having worked for high profile organisations such as Destination NSW in stakeholder engagement, TAFE NSW’s industry marketing team, and executing digital marketing for the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Whilst working for The Intermedia Group – one of Australia’s largest B2B publishing and event management companies – she successfully implemented digital marketing strategies for 20+ B2B magazine titles, as well as delivered the Hotel Management Awards for the Asia Pacific (600pax) and the Australian Liquor Industry Awards (800pax) for two years running, resulting in record profit and attendance.

She also brings a wealth of festival experience, including (but not limited to) working on Australia’s first sustainability festival, Greenfest, which attracted 30,000 attendees; executing visitor marketing strategies for Screenwave International Film Festival which contributed to a 35% increase in attendance; and working as the assistant festival director for Woolgoolga Curryfest.

She holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing & Advertising) (Distinction) from Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Business (International Event Management) (Distinction) from The University of Queensland.

Carlina is a Coffs Harbour local and has a passion for regional economic development, particularly through the advancement of the festival and tourism industries.
